HI-POLY Foam and Memory Foam–Materials for Insoles

What is HI-POLY foam?

HI-POLY foam, also known as HI-POLY, is a special regenerated foam that makes full use of advanced science and technology to make the waste recycled PU raw materials processed by multiple technologies, and then add natural plant antibacterial agents and activated carbon, aggregated all these raw materials together. Its main component is a polyurethane (PU), which does not contain any toxic substances, and can be recycled and regenerated many times, which fully meets the requirements of international environmental protection organizations.

In response to the demand for improving the performance of insole products, the main advantages of HI-POLY are:

1. Deodorization, sweat absorption, and breathability: In the production process of HI-POLY foam, the PU raw material recovered by the exhaust gas is finely crushed by an advanced machine, so it has a unique and sparse particle structure, forming hundreds of millions of ultra-fine particles. With open pores, the air inside the shoe circulates freely in all directions through the insole at 360°C, so that moisture can be easily taken away, and its own capillary structure fully exerts the role of moisture absorption and perspiration, keeping the feet dry and breathable; Antibacterial and mildew resistance is the inherent magical properties of HI-POLY foam, which can effectively prevent the growth of bacteria and the generation of peculiar smells, and keep the wearer’s feet dry and comfortable to the utmost to achieve the deodorant effect.

2. Shock absorption and shock absorption: HI-POLY foam has superior elasticity and high-density polymerization, so that it has cushioning and shock absorption effects. It can effectively absorb the resilience generated by the ground during exercise or walking,  it protects the joints of the hip, knee, and waist, and is especially suitable for long-term use.

3. Anti-compression deformation: The unique ultra-high-density guarantees its super resistance to compression, deformation, tortuosity, and abrasion resistance, and can withstand long-term, high-frequency, high-strength stepping pressure without deformation, unlike other insole materials, which will gradually dent and cause permanent compression deformation.

What is Memory Foam?

Memory foam refers to a polyether polyurethane foam sponge with slow rebound mechanical properties. It is a special sponge and was developed by a European company. The English common name is MEMORY FOAM, and memory foam is its literal translation. It is also called slow rebound sponge, space zero pressure, aerospace cotton, TEMPUR material, low rebound material, viscoelastic sponge, etc. in China.

Memory foam is a polyurethane foam with slow rebound characteristics. It was originally designed by NASA Ames Research Center to reduce the tremendous pressure that astronauts bear during the spacecraft’s cosmic acceleration. The Ames Research Center authorized a European company in the 1990s to develop and introduce civilian use twice, first in medicine, and later in household products. After being widely recognized abroad, it later appeared in China.

When you press the flat surface of the memory foam with your hand, a fingerprint will appear and then slowly disappear. This is the iconic effect of the memory foam-“slow rebound”. It is difficult for other materials to imitate the slow rebound speed.

The memory foam has a soft hand feel. When you hold the memory foam with your hand, you will feel the palm of your hand is constantly emptied, like an hourglass, there is no tension coming out, and the pinching time is long and not too tired; when lying on the memory foam cushion When people feel the gradual sedimentation process, it is like falling into a quagmire, and hearing the subtle sound of the continuous flow of gas in the memory foam; when people sit on the memory foam lumbar pad, they begin to deform continuously, and then the feeling of resistance disappears. And the back pain that should have appeared after sitting for a long time, it is hard to find a trace.

(1) It has leading performance in terms of absorbing impact, reducing vibration, and releasing low rebound force; it is a cushioning material to protect the body of astronauts when the space capsule is landing, and it is the best material for packaging valuable instruments.

(2) Provide uniform surface pressure distribution; adapt to the externally compressed surface shape through stress relaxation, so that the highest point pressure is reduced to the lowest point, so as to avoid the location of microcirculation compression. It is a cushion material that effectively avoids bedsores when lying in bed for a long time. It can gently maintain the shape of foreign objects and is a good material for posture mats.

(3) Chemical properties such as stable molecules, no toxic side effects, no allergies, no volatile irritating substances, and good flame retardant effects when in contact with the human body; no country has announced that it does not meet the hygiene and safety testing requirements of daily necessities.

(4) Permeable cell structure, without perforation, guarantees the air permeability and moisture absorption required by human skin, and has proper heat preservation performance; it feels warmer in winter, and it is obviously cooler than an ordinary sponge in summer.

(5) It has antibacterial, anti-mite, and anti-corrosion properties, strong adsorption capacity, and maintains the cleanliness of the outside world; it is generally in contact with the human body and can be used for a long time without washing or disinfection.

(6) It is more durable and its performance is maintained for a long time; it can be shaped as needed; it can be made according to the required hardness, rebound speed, and density to meet the needs of products for different purposes; the human body feels comfortable in contact.
