EVA is a type of foam, not rubber.
Even though EVA and rubber share some similar properties and are both widely used in footwear, they differ in their chemical composition, physical structure and performance characteristics. EVA foam is made from a plastic material called Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate that can be easily processed into various shapes and densities for different applications. It is lightweight, soft, flexible, and has good shock-absorption and moisture-wicking capabilities. In contrast, rubber is a natural or synthetic polymer with high elasticity, resilience, abrasion resistance, and water resistance. It is usually heavier than EVA foam and has more rigid texture. Both materials have their own advantages and disadvantages depending on the intended use and user preferences.
