Seven keys to choosing an orthotic insole

Do you pay attention to your feet in your daily life?

Our feet always bear the weight of our bodies in obscurity, and we never notice what it goes through every day.

The importance of our feet to our health is only taken into account when we have pain in our feet, legs, and back, we mentioned this in a previous post (lots of little things you don’t know about feet) . At this point, orthotic insoles may be a good choice to help ease the pain.

What is an orthotic insole?

Orthotic insoles are designed to fit the individual’s bones, joints and soft tissue structure, provide support and cushioning for the foot and correct foot and leg problems such as flat feet and long and short legs.

A suitable pair of orthopedic insoles can have a targeted positive effect on foot muscle tissue, gait and posture.

These insoles are made by orthopedic technicians and try to eliminate foot pain, back pain or knee pain. Often they can be easily inserted into the shoe, causing initial discomfort, like a new pair of shoes. After a week, the soles of the feet get used to it and are no longer aware of the insoles.

When do we need an orthotic insole?

Flat Foot

High Arch

Fan Foot

Hallux Valgus

Poor ankle stability

Metatarsal pain

When there’s too little soft tissue in the sole of the foot,

when the foot tissue needs to be protected after surgery,

balance legs

For patients with structural leg problems, such as flat, high arched, or rocking gait, orthotic insoles can prevent other joint injuries due to mechanical changes and make walking smoother and safer.

How much does it cost to customize an orthotic insole?

From tens, hundreds, even thousands of dollars, compared to a pair of no functional brand shoes, the price is still appropriate.

How often do you wear orthopedic insoles?

The more often you use the insole, the better. In other words: wear insoles as often as possible every day.

Why does it have to be professionally tailored orthotic insoles?

Be sure to have a doctor, Pt, or orthopedic technician carefully examine your foot, lower limb joint structure, and so on.

Then the foot pressure is measured: by walking on an electronic pressure board, you can determine exactly where the shoe’s pressure point is, which is where the pain is coming from. Where is the greatest load? Which Area should be padded?

Custom orthotics

The biggest BUG with custom orthotics: it’s impossible to replace them because each pair is custom made!

Do custom insoles make you feel better?

Of course not. There is still the intervention of rehabilitation, insole for passive support, rehabilitation to help you actively restore muscle quality, and re-establish the correct movement pattern, the combination of both will promote the recovery of body function more quickly.
